ToolMarks ATX is a woodworking cooperative makerspace for part-time woodworkers and full-time furniture makers.

Austin’s background is in creative digital marketing, operations, and management but his passion will always be woodworking. He has years of experience as a hobbyist furniture maker and hopes to utilize his business experience to create one of the best woodworking educational institutions.

Shota is a full-time furniture maker striving to preserve traditional methods and techniques while keeping them relevant to modern times. Shota attended the David Savage School of Fine Furniture in Devon, England for 1 year. After furniture school, he worked at Collings Guitar outside Austin and with Mark Macek at Macek Furniture company. During this time, Shota began to work for himself and started SYD. He along with a few other partners started Toolmarks, a woodworking co-op in south Austin.

Aaron Fox began making furniture in high school and eventually attended the Maine College of Art. After exploring the theory of art and design he sought a more hands-on education at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine. After graduating, he then returned to Naples, Florida and completed a three-year apprenticeship at The Thomas Riley Artisans Guild. In 2011 Aaron moved to Austin, started Fox Furniture as well as a woodworking co-op shop in south Austin (ToolMarks ATX). He is currently building a product line of contemporary furniture with traditional and modern techniques as well as one-off pieces for architects and interior designers. Aaron enjoys sharing his knowledge of hand tools and techniques with students at the Austin School of Furniture & Design.
